YEAR 6

Making it through Home Learning took the best out of us as often, we were either tired or we couldn’t find out belongings or we were late to class etc. We were away from school for so long, so how did we get through these sessions? What comforted us and what was handy to have close to us all the time? Was it our to-do-list as our little reminder or our hot packs to keep us warm?

Let’s find out:

Krar

My favourite thing about remote learning is when we all come together and talk about learning and lots of other things. I like Zoom and SEQTA Learn when I do soccer and sports, music and reading the novel “Wonder.” Thank you.

Milla

My special item is my phone. I had my phone on my desk just in case I needed help and so I would text Mariam or Cidra and a few other girls. I only texted when I had trouble with some questions, and I made sure I was not interrupting their learning. Without my phone, I wouldn’t have known somethings about my work. It really helped. No joke!

Farida

My special item during home learning was my desk. I do my Zoom classes on my desk. Without my desk, I wouldn’t have been able to do the work the teacher gave me. I use my desk a lot.

Mueez

My special item through the term was my laptop. Everyday it was the most important thing that I needed. If I didn’t have it then I wouldn’t have been able to do my online learning.

Hina

The thing I used the most was my pencil case. Well not only just the case, the stationery inside it as well. Everyday I used it and I used it 24/7 during Zoom. Without it, I wouldn’t have been able to do the Zoom lessons.

Hussain Alshamarry

My most, special thing is my table and my pencil because I cannot write and do other school things without them. I cannot forget about them. I always keep my pencil with me and if I don’t, then I can’t write or finish my work.

Izaan

My computer was important for me as it was used for Zoom lessons, Reading Eggs, Mathletics and SEQTA Learn etc. It is rather silly, but without it, it would have been much harder to do home learning.

During remote learning, we had an Art project called Spoonville Art. We had to make something from a spoon. At first, I thought I would do a normal person, but I couldn’t get the mouth right. So, I thought why not build up on that mistake. I then thought of making a vampire. I even made a cape. It was horrific!

It taught me that sometimes you need to make mistakes to do a good job of something.

Hussain Almosawy

The most important item in home learning for me was my notepad. Everyday it was there waiting to be used and I didn’t need to go anywhere when the teacher was giving us the instructions.

Mariam

My special item throughout home learning was the technology and my chair. I sometimes have problems, so I use some of the technology and I have my phone with me if I need help. I text my friends and ask them. I even have my chair. I always sat on that pink, comfy chair when I do home learning.

Hassan

What was important for me was my desk and my laptop. I used to sit on the ground, so it was uncomfortable. I couldn’t make out the features on the screen like the background and thumbs up. Now on the laptop, I can do a lot of things and it was just way easier to open Zoom. The desk meant I could sit on a comfortable chair with my books next to me.

Raphael

My special item is my laptop since I do Zoom on it and when I finish my work, I can relax and play games. It also helps me calm myself down by listening to music when I do my work.

Sukaina

My special item throughout home learning was my desk. I put my laptop on the table, and I did my work on it. Without it, my work wouldn’t have been as tidy and neat as it was.

Cidra

My slippers were definitely something that kept me warm during quarantine and winter and they kept me going. When I woke up with freezing feet, they kept me happy.

Dema

My special item throughout home learning was my mechanical pencil.

I've put it right next to my computer every day during home learning and used it for writing and drawing. Without it, I wouldn't be able to do my work, literally. It may seem pretty boring and a bit useless to you, but it's the thing I’ve used most in my daily life for home learning!

Mohamad

My blanket is important to me because in the morning sometimes, it was very cold. So, without my blanket, I couldn’t be warm. But with it, I got very warm.
